NEWS FLASH: Cleveland Browns announce the signing of QB To Replace Deshaun Watson

REPORT: Cleveland Browns Draw Interest From Veteran Pro Bowl QB To Replace Deshaun Watson; Fans React

A veteran quarterback with Pro Bowl credentials is reportedly interested in the Cleveland Browns gig this week. The Browns must explore veteran quarterback options after Deshaun Watson was ruled out for the season with a shoulder injury.

Several quarterbacks have been linked to the Browns this week. Many such names, like Tom Brady or Jimmy Garoppolo, seem far-fetched. But the Browns don’t have many great options in a season they have a good opportunity to make a run in the playoffs.

Former Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III said this week he would be willing to play for the Browns. Griffin claims to be able to run a 4.3-second 40-yard dash. The 33-year-old quarterback last played for the Baltimore Ravens in the 2020 season. Griffin played for the Browns in 2016.

Cleveland Browns fans react to RGIII wanting to play again

Browns fans had mixed reactions to Griffin wanting to return to Cleveland. Here are the best takes of Griffin expressing interest in Cleveland.

I really hope they bring RG3 in. It makes perfect sense. He can either mentor or manage the game for them and then continue to grow as the season progresses. It can only help not hurt.

I’m rocking with whoever rocking orange and brown but I wouldn’t be mad having rg3 on the sideline

I get what you’re saying. If the Browns had even the slightest inkling about RGIII, he would have been called by now.

Then RGIII could have avoided disgrace by not making that dumb video.

4.3 speed? Throws of 80 yards? He’d have been contacted…

The Browns become legit Super Bowl contenders with RG3 at the helm. The AFC would be in serious trouble.
