Report: Falcons revert to Desmond Ridder as their starting quarterback.

According to NFL Network, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder is anticipated to return to the starting lineup when the team returns from its bye week this week. Ridder started the Falcons’ first eight games before being examined for a concussion on Oct. 29 against the Tennessee Titans. Taylor Heinicke joined that game and has started the last two for Atlanta (4-6), which returns to action on Nov. 26 against the visiting New Orleans Saints.

When Heinicke suffered a hamstring injury in the second half of the Falcons’ 25-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Ridder took over.

In nine games this season, Ridder has completed 65.4 percent of his passes for 1,740 yards, six touchdowns, and six interceptions. Atlanta selected him in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. In parts of three games this season, Heinicke, 30, completed 55.4 percent of his throws for 498 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.
