Adam Idah ignites Celtic transfer hopes as X-rated social media demand sends return hype into overdrive

The striker is set to return to Norwich City after impressing at Celtic Park in a six-month spell.

Celtic fans and Brendan Rodgers are both keen to bring Adam Idah back to Parkhead next season – and the man himself appears to have made his feelings on a return clear.

Rodgers made it known to the Celtic board following the Scottish Cup win over Rangers that he wants to bring the Irishman back for Norwich City to Glasgow’s east end this summer – with Record Sport exclusively revealing earlier this week that Hoops hierarchy are committed to fulfilling their manager’s wishes. But with Norwich sacking their manager David Wagner a delay could be put on the deal while the incoming Canaries boss assesses his squad.

But Idah has made a cryptic nod to his own feelings on a move on Instagram – after appearing to sign off his Celtic career after a memorable six-month stint in Glasgow’s east end. He posted to social media: “Bhoys, thank you. The last few months have been amazing, and I’ve loved being part of this special team. I’ve made memories and friends for life! Thank you for all the support whilst I’ve been here and best of luck for the future.”

That sparked a plea from fans for him to return to Celtic Park next season – and the boyhood Hoops’ fan a clue for fans that he hopes to be back. Among liking a host of comments from his now ex-Celtic teammates he liked a comment from Celtic diehard Idah’s international teammate James McClean that read: “Sign him up to f***”. That was followed by a four-leaf clover.

Fans were quick to jump on the comment. One stated: “Listen to the man.” Another was quick to note Idah had responded: “Liked by the author – tells you everything.”

It appears that Idah has joined with Rodgers and the fans in pleading for the Celtic decision-makers to make a deal permanent. However, the power the deal now lies at Carrow Road.
