Nottingham Forest announce pre-season plans as ‘exciting opportunity’ outlined

Latest Nottingham Forest news as Nuno Espirito Santo’s Reds look ahead to 2024/25 Premier League season

Nottingham Forest will travel to Spain for a training camp next month as part of their pre-season plans.

The Reds will play three friendlies at the Pinatar Arena, in Murcia, taking on Sunderland, Millwall and Spanish side Elche. The trip will come on the back of their already-announced opening friendly, away to Chesterfield on July 13.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will take on Sunderland on Friday, July 19 (6pm kick-off BST, 7pm local time). They will then face Millwall on Tuesday, July 23 (6pm KO BST, 7pm local time) and Elche on Saturday, July 27 (10am KO BST, 11am local time).

Forest’s B team will be in Spain at the same time and will also play three friendlies at the Pinatar Arena. They will play Bournemouth Under-21s on Sunday, July 21 (10am KO BST, 11am local time), Real Murcia B on Monday, July 24 (10am KO BST, 11am local time) and CD Minera on Saturday, July 27 (9.30am KO BST, 10.30am local time).

Chief football officer Ross Wilson said: “The team are looking forward to preparations in Spain as we build up for the new Premier League season. We have a strong training and games programme for the First Team and the B Team. We continue to push to alignment of our Academy and first team and pre-season will provide an exciting opportunity for all of the players.”

After the camp in Spain, Nuno’s men will return to England to continue their preparations for the 2024/25 Premier League campaign. Forest say a full pre-season schedule for both the first-team and the B team will be confirmed in due course.

The club add: “Tickets, which are only on sale for our first team’s fixtures, are available to purchase via the Pinatar Arena website here. Please note that streaming details for all six fixtures will be confirmed in due course.”
