Liverpool’s absences of Fabinho and Ibrahima Konate have been explained.

Ibrahima Konate and Fabinho are both out of today’s Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Konate was ruled out for up to three weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in last week’s 2-1 loss at Brighton and is expected to miss at least the next three Premier League games.

Liverpool will be without the Frenchman, who has started the last six games at the heart of their defense.

Fabinho has had a poor run of form, which has led to his exclusion from the matchday squad. Since Jurgen Klopp did not reveal any news of an injury to the midfielder during his press conference yesterday, it is unclear whether he has suffered a late injury or has been completely dropped.

Stefan Bajcetic, an eighteen-year-old midfielder, makes his fourth consecutive start for Liverpool.

Confirmed Liverpool lineup vs. Wolves:

Liverpool will be looking for their first Premier League victory of 2023 this afternoon when they travel to Molineux to face Wolves.

So far this season, the Reds have lost to Brentford and Brighton in the league, drawn with Chelsea, and have one win in six overall.

Liverpool face Wolves for the third time in a month, with Alisson starting again as Klopp makes two changes.

At full-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson are retained, but Joel Matip replaces Ibrahima Konate due to injury.

With Klopp admitting that Fabinho is “not flying” due to his lack of form, Stefan Bajcetic remains at No. 6, flanked by Naby Keita and Thiago.

Meanwhile, Darwin Nunez joins Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo in the attack.
