Karim Adeyemi set a new Bundesliga record on Saturday afternoon as Borussia Dortmund defeated Freiburg 5-1 to reclaim the title. The 21-year-old reached a top speed of 22.77mph (36.65 km/h), making him the Bundesliga’s fastest player since records began in 2011/12.

Surprisingly, former Mainz defender Jeremiah St. Juste, now at Sporting CP, is second after reaching a top speed of 22.76mph (36.63 km/h), with Bayer Leverkusen’s French attacker Moussa Diaby rounding out the top three after being clocked at 22.69mph (36.52 km/h) until Adeyemi set a new record.

Alphonso Davies (22.69mph), Achraf Hakimi (22.67mph), Leon Bailey (22.62mph), Sheraldo Becker (22.61mph), Kevin Schade (22.6mph), Erling Haaland (22.56mph), and Nathan Ngoumou round out the top ten (22.47mph).

Adeyemi has had a fantastic start to 2023. The Germany international scored his first Bundesliga goal for Borussia Dortmund against Bayer Leverkusen last weekend, and added another in BVB’s 5-1 win over Bayern Munich on Saturday.
