New Tottenham Hotspur signing Pedro Porro has taken to Twitter to express his disappointment after making his debut earlier today at Leicester City.

Antonio Conte named the Spanish international in his starting eleven at right wing-back in place of Emerson Royal who had impressed during his last outing in the 1-0 win against Manchester City last weekend.

Porro admitted in his post that he was sad following the 4-1 defeat at the King Power Stadium and is not prepared to give up.

Tottenham took the lead after fifteen minutes through Rodrigo Bentancur, however, a series of defensive errors saw them allow Leicester back into the match and never looked like scoring a second.

Tim Sherwood, the former Tottenham Hotspur manager, slammed Porro’s performance, describing it as “one of the worst debuts he has ever witnessed” (Football Daily).

Porro appeared shaky defensively in his first appearance, allowing Harvey Barnes to easily ghost in behind him, and his first touch appeared to be off compared to what fans have seen during his time in Portugal.

His debut for Tottenham will certainly not be something he fondly remembers and has some work to do to get up to speed with Antonio Conte’s expectations of the right wing-back role.

Leicester appeared to look to pinpoint the space he left in behind defensively with his positioning at times leaving Japhet Tanganga exposed.
