Cristian Stellini has provided a team news update to journalists who have attended Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Everton press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.
The Italian was holding his first press conference in his new role of acting head coach following the departure of Antonio Conte late on Sunday evening.
Stellini is still able to call upon the services of the majority of Conte’s backroom staff with goalkeeping coach Marco Savorani, set-piece specialist Gianni Vio, and fitness coaches Stefano Bruno and Constantino Coratti will remain in north London, while the 53-year-old’s brother Gianluca also packed his bags.
Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of the clash against Sean Dyche’s side.
Spurs are without Rodrigo Bentancur (knee), Yves Bissouma (ankle), Ben Davies (hamstring), Richarlison (muscle injury), Emerson Royal (knee) and Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring) for the trip to Goodison Park.
Stellini has revealed that Perisic is fit and ready to play despite picking up that knock for Croatia, while Hugo Lloris is also available again (Charlie Eccleshare).
Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon are said to be recovering well. Richarlison is also on the mend but not yet back in training.
Bentancur, Bissouma, and Emerson remain more long-term absentees.

Tottenham are in need of a new head coach after the club parted ways with Antonio Conte during the international break
Daniel Levy has been encouraged to be ‘brave’ and appoint Vincent Kompany as Tottenham head coach. The Burnley boss has been heavily linked with replacing Antonio Conte at Hotspur Way after he and the club parted ways earlier this week.
Julian Nagelsmann and Mauricio Pochettino are expected to be on Spurs’ shortlist but, following Kompany’s excellent work with the Lancashire-based side, Tottenham have been urged to take a risk on the former Manchester City defender.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Kompany was quizzed on his ambitions at Burnley and what the future holds for him amid links to the Spurs job. He said: “The way I am as a person, my starting point is: ‘Okay, where can this place go?’
“You know, because everybody is talking about our limits, but we are the only ones who can judge our own limits I think. So, my first thing is where this place can go and that consumes my every moment.
Despite only taking charge of Burnley in the summer, Kompany has led the Clarets to the top of the Championship, boasting a 13-point lead over second-placed Sheffield United. Not only has the 36-year-old transformed the club’s fortunes on the pitch, he’s also managed to reshape the club’s identity too by installing an attractive style of football at Turf Moor.
As quoted by the Evening Standard, Tony Cascarino claimed that Kompany would be the ‘best fit’ for Tottenham. The former Chelsea star said: “In the past Tottenham have just made an obvious choice, picking managers with the best CVs, but it’s time for them to be brave, especially as Harry Kane may well depart, which would create a completely new dynamic at the club.
“I think Vincent Kompany would be an excellent appointment after his miraculous feats at Burnley this season. He’s had little money but transformed them, adopting a new playing style.”
“So, as much as I love the club – I want to show an example – when we left Manchester City, I love the club,” Kompany added. “But, my first thought is not like: ‘Oh, it’d be nice to…’. My first thought is how we can close the gap. I think that is my job as a manager.
“Is there something impossible that’s being done over there? Or is it something possible for us? That’s my job. That’s what I do and that’s the only thing that bothers me. And the rest? I don’t know. I think, in football, when you find a good place – it’s worth really protecting that.”
