17-year-old Newcastle midfielder will not be involved against Manchester City tonight

Newcastle United’s newest star will not be available to face Manchester City at the Etihad tonight.

As the Newcastle first team get ready for their biggest test so far as they take on treble winning Manchester City tonight, they will do so without youngster Lewis Miley in the squad.

Lewis Miley has forced his way into Eddie Howe‘s first-team thinking with impressive displays for the reserves followed by further eye-catching displays in the first team at Chelsea in the Premier League at the end of last season and a stint in the first-team during pre-season.

Howe decided to keep Lewis MileLy around Newcastle this season

Howe opted not to loan Miley out during the first half of the season so as to keep an eye on his development and, hopefully to give him more opportunities in the first-team.

At just 17 Miley has shown an impressive level of maturity both on and off the pitch and looks set to be a huge star of the future.

But while Eddie Howe gets his charges ready for the big game tonight, Miley will already have played a game as he’s set to feature for the Under 21s in the Premier League 2 clash with Tottenham at 1pm.Newcastle United hint that teenager Lewis Miley won't be allowed out on loan next season - Chronicle Live

Miley may miss out tonight but he’ll get plenty of opportunities

As fit as Miley is it’s a stretch to ask him to be involved in a game at 1pm in Stevenage and then another at 8pm in Manchester.

There will be plenty more opportunities for Miley this season with Newcastle competing in the Champions League as well as looking to put together two decent cup runs.

The youngster has already shown that he can cut it in the Premier League too so I dare say he will be given a game or two in the league this season as well.
