The former Barnsley defender started for Southampton last weekend, when the south coast club were trounced by Sunderland by a score of 5-1. Holgate’s debut was one he won’t want to reminisce about during the international break, as he received a 5.4 FotMob rating, making him the team’s lowest-rated outfielder. Holgate hadn’t played for Everton this season before moving to St Mary’s, and he was even battling to make the team in pre-season, so it’s not surprising he wasn’t at his best on Saturday.
