Demarai Gray’s goal for Jamaica has made Everton and Sean Dyche look foolish.

The way both sides have handled the Demarai Gray and Everton story has been awful, and the latest update only makes matters worse.

The Jamaica international joined All-Ittifaq in Saudi Arabia on deadline day this week, just days after a public spat between player and manager Sean C

Gray wanted to move for more regular first-team action, and Dyche appeared to be willing to let him go for the appropriate price.

As a result, Dyche did not select Gray for any of the first four games of the season, leaving him out of the team entirely despite a lack of quality offensive options.

According to his press conferences, his rationale was always fitness-related, but when Gray left the club, he stated that he was match fit and ready to go for his new team.

But Dyche insisted he wasn’t fit to play and hadn’t been training. Gray, on the other hand, went into Jamaica’s starting lineup yesterday night and scored shortly after the hour mark to help the team defeat Honduras.

Whether you think selling him was the right option or not is irrelevant right now since there is no doubt he could have benefited us in those first games.

We didn’t score a single goal in the opening three games of the season, falling to consecutive defeats without Dominic Calvert-Lewin (save for a cameo against Aston Villa), Dwight McNeil, or Alex Iwobi.

Gray didn’t have to start games, but having him as an option would have given us a better chance of scoring goals and earning points.

But we not only broke our promise by selling him despite also selling Iwobi to Fulham, but we also didn’t use him while he was here despite being fit enough to contribute.

Dyche seems silly, and Everton looks stupid as a result, and all we can do is hope it doesn’t happen again.

In other Everton news, despite disappointing results this season, star is expected to start for the international team today.
