Sheffield During the international break, Wednesday’s Championship opponents were hard at work, taking part in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Premier League opposition as part of their Hillsborough preparations.
Ipswich Town have made an amazing return to the Championship after being promoted to the second division with Wednesday in a record-breaking League One promotion battle last season.

Kieran McKenna’s men, along with Plymouth Argyle, finished third on Wednesday, launching a historic play-off campaign.

They’ll travel to Hillsborough next Saturday with high confidence, having won four of their five league games and sitting second in the table.
And there have been no slowdowns in preparations during the current international break.

Ipswich Town will play a behind-closed-doors friendly against Premier League West Ham United on Thursday, with both teams fielding strong teams except for those on international duty.

The two clubs agreed that no picture or footage of the collision would be produced.

The Tractor Boys did, however, record a creditable 1-1 draw in the match, with former Manchester United and England player Jesse Lingard playing 70 minutes.

Lingard, a free agent, is hoping to clinch a contract with David Moyes’ team after impressing in training recently.
