David Moyes was left frustrated after Michail Antonio missed the target against Liverpool at Anfield yesterday in the Hammers’ 1-0 loss.

As you can see on the BBC’s Match of the Day Michail Antonio bluffed his lines when he headed in Soucek’s cross eight minutes into the second half.

The footage then shows Moyes falling to his knees as he watches Antonio miss what should have been a third goal.

Mowbray commented on the missed chance and the reaction of Moyes, saying: “Antonio should have buried it. He had the better chance, one that Alisson saved and one that he put wide. I can’t believe it. It’s the sort of thing that should go in if you’re going to win away from home at Anfield.”

Given West Ham’s good start, this was a great chance for them to get a foothold in the game.

Antonio’s miss was certainly not the worst of his career, but it clearly frustrated his manager.

While Moyes was left frustrated by Antonio’s miss, he did take the opportunity to praise West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, who scored the only goal of the game, saying he doesn’t get the credit he deserves.

Of course, it’s not just Liverpool who have been linked with Bowen

It’s no secret that Jurgen Klopp is a fan

so it’ll be interesting to see if the Englishman proves his worth at Anfield

Lucas Paqueta, who is also wanted by Manchester City

In addition to £7m signing Antonio, there’s no doubt that West Ham have some great options under manager Moyes

They’re certainly looking strong this year

Losing twice in a row to Liverpool and Man City isn’t going to make much of a difference in the future

West Ham will now turn their attention to next Saturday’s game against Sheffield United
