Bayley Sironen, a forward for the New Zealand Warriors, joins a Super League team.

Bayley Sironen, a forward with the NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS, has joined the Super League.

The 26-year-old second row for the New Zealand Warriors has agreed to a two-year contract with Catalans Dragons.

“I am extremely excited to be coming to such a competitive team,” Sironen said. “When I met the coach, I was really impressed with what Steve had to say and the way he spoke, and I have heard such excellent things from those who have represented the club in the past. I can’t wait to go over and start working in hopes of bringing the Dragons even more success.

Prior to making his NRL debut with the squad in August 2017, the forward began his career with the Wests Tigers Reserve team in the New South Wales Cup.

He went to South Sydney Rabbitohs after making two NRL appearances with Wests Tigers. He only had a few opportunities to play for the Rabbitohs, featuring in five games during his first two NRL seasons with the team. However, in 2020, he established himself as a frontline player for the club, playing in 19 games to bring his career total to 24.

He joined the New Zealand Warriors in 2021, where he swiftly rose to the position of crucial member of the team. He made it all the way to the NRL semifinals with 56 NRL appearances.

Bayley is a young, motivated player with much of NRL experience who will be a terrific addition to our team, according to Steve McNamara. Players adore playing with him, and coaches adore coaching him. His adaptability will provide us a lot of choices in addition to his primary role as a second row.
