The four players that could join the players leaving West Ham United this summer
The players who might be leaving the London Stadium this summer and the impact that would have on West Ham United.

By the end of May, the London Stadium was filled with wide grins and people blowing bubbles in celebration of their first major victory in 43 years. However, now that the transfer market has officially opened, David Moyes and the coaching staff are back to business as usual.

As Moyes’ team faces some difficult choices in the coming weeks, their best player is about to go, two seasoned players have expiring contracts, and the big-money vultures are circling another couple of important players. Let’s take a look at who is leaving the club and what their departures might imply for the Hammers. Three players are practically out of the club, and a couple more may very well follow.

Rice was “99%” certain to go, according to owner David Sullivan, when the offseason began. With Arsenal making a deal worth up to £105 million, you can add an additional 0.9% to that. We’re likely reaching the stage where discussions end quickly and West Ham will have to start life without their finest player because Manchester City is reportedly pulling out of the running as the price soars.

There won’t really be a replacement for Rice, at least not entirely. It goes without saying that Rice’s enthusiasm and combativeness will be missed, but whoever replaces him or her will unavoidably be a step down in terms of class and quality. Naturally, a lot is affected by the astronomical transfer charge.

Manuel Lanzini departs

The Argentine offensive midfielder, a fan favorite since his arrival eight years ago, is out of contract and won’t be given a new offer. The 30-year-old supposedly won two club goal of the season honors and was the 2016–17 ‘Hammer of the Year’ runner-up, but his race is ended after only appearing ten times in the Premier League during the most recent season. Since Moyes has already moved on, even if it takes some reminiscing supporters a little longer to do so, the hole he leaves will actually be in people’s hearts more than it will be on the field.

Gianluca Scamacca is departing.

The Italian striker is nearing the end of a trying time in east London, and it looks like it will be over quite soon.
