Ryan Day reveals Ohio State quarterback injury news

Devin Brown is back at practice.

The Ohio State Buckeyes were without backup quarterback Devin Brown – who the team has been using as a running threat in the red zone – during this week’s game against the Wisconsin Badgers. But it sounds like there’s at least a chance Brown could return to the lineup in the near future.

During his press conference on Tuesday, Ryan Day announced that Devin Brown was set to return to practice for the Buckeyes, but he wasn’t exactly sure how much he would be able to play or what he would be able to do for the team.

“It’s hard for me to talk specifics, but we’re expecting Devin to practice today,” Ryan Day said according to On3. “In what capacity? We’ll see. But we’re gonna see him out there today.”

Before Ohio State’s game against Penn State, Day explained what Brown brings to the offense when the team puts him into the game in the red zone.

“When you get down in those types of situations, the numbers start to work against you on offense,” Day said. “When you add the quarterback into it, it can change those numbers. The great thing about Devin is he can throw the ball well. You see the throw he made to Brandon [Innis] at the end of the game. So he’s not just a running quarterback. However, he is big and strong and athletic and competitive.”We’ll have to see when Brown is able to return to the field.
