Cleveland Browns Trade For Quarterback In Engaging Trade Scenario

Since the start of the 2023 season, the Cleveland Browns have struggled at quarterback. Starter Deshaun Watson has not lived up to expectations and has been plagued by injuries. According to a Bleacher Report trade proposal, the team should look for a quarterback before the trade deadline in Cleveland.

Jacoby Brissett demonstrated his ability to play at a high level as the Browns’ backup quarterback last season. Last season, he had 2,608 passing yards and 12 touchdowns in 11 starts. Cleveland went 4-7 in Watson’s first start as a starter after serving an 11-game ban.

Watson’s availability has been shifting in recent weeks as he recovers from a rotator cuff injury. P.J. Walker has started the last two games for Cleveland and has been helped by the defense. Walker has 618 passing yards, one touchdown, and five interceptions in three games this season. Cleveland clearly has a quarterback problem, and Brissett can help.

Brissett has been a backup to Sam Howell for the Washington Commanders this season. He hasn’t played a single snap this season, and fans and analysts alike want him to. He has 10,350 throwing yards and 48 touchdowns entering his ninth season. Throughout his career, he has been a good quarterback option who has been consistent when called upon.

The Browns are now 4-3 and coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Seattle Seahawks in week eight. They are currently third in the extremely competitive AFC North and are vying for the divisional title. With Watson being a letdown this season, Brissett can restore Cleveland’s energy, as he did last season.\
