The January transfer window might be crucial for Arsenal as they attempt to gain an advantage in the Premier League title fight. The Gunners faced disappointment last season, with Manchester City eventually recovering top spot on their way to completing a historic triple. Mikel Arteta will want to avoid this type of misery this season, but following a 2-0 loss to West Ham United, it’s evident that some adjustments are still needed at The Emirates.

While their focus may soon shift to reinforcements, rumors claim that Arsenal is prepared to sell two high-earners in the January transfer window in a brutal move from the North London club.

After a great summer transfer window in which Declan Rice, David Raya, Jurrien Timber, and Kai Havertz all arrived, the days of terrible Arsenal recruitment appear to be over. Rice stood out from the start, before Havertz settled in with Raya, who is now Arteta’s clear number one ahead of Aaron Ramsdale. Meanwhile, Timber had an early injury setback and will have to wait for a comparable impact when he returns. Following those additions, the Gunners may be able to clear some space by selling two midfielders next month.

Arsenal must find a replacement for Partey.
If Partey and Jorginho leave the Emirates next month, the club must find a replacement for the midfield tandem, particularly the former. Manchester City have suffered the penalties of failing to find a sufficient back-up for Rodri this season, losing to teams like Wolverhampton Wanderers. And Arsenal must avoid the same fate with Rice, with Partey now serving as a great second option for Arteta when fit. Meanwhile, the experience of a player like Jorginho can often be important in a title chase, and the Gunners must be mindful of losing i

However, given that Partey’s wages are supposedly £200k per week and Jorginho’s wages are apparently as high as £110k per week, the probable exits could be sacrifices that turn out to be a good thing for Arsenal. Given that both players are frequently on Arteta’s side these days, it’s safe to say that sanctioning the exits of the midfield combo would free up plenty of space on the Gunners’ current pay sheet. They both appear to be players to watch when the winter window opens
