Former Super Bowl MVP Hines Ward Joins Arizona State Sun Devils As Wide Receivers Coach

Hines Ward, the former two-time Super Bowl champion and Super Bowl XL MVP, wide receiver of the Pittsburgh Steelers has reportedly agreed to become the wide receivers coach for Arizona State Sun Devils.

Ward played with the Pittsburgh Steelers throughout his whole active career and was selected in the 1998 NFL Draft in the third round as the 92nd pick. After his playing career concluded, he started his next journey in the coaching department.

He was the wide receivers coach of Florida Atlantic and was also the offensive assistant of the New York Jets from 2019 to 2020. He was also the head coach of the San Antonio Bahamas of the former XFL, which now plays in the UFL, United Football League.

According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, Ward played in 217 games and registered 12,083 receiving yards, 85 receiving touchdowns, and 1,000 receptions. Ward also served as the head of football development for The Alliance of American Football.
