Wahoo ELEMNT bike computers’ functionality is expanded by a software update.
A number of software updates for ELEMNT bike computers have been released by Wahoo Fitness. The newest ROAM and BOLT devices now have these updates, which include GoPro Control, Smart Light Control, Music Control, and Training Plans integration.
Wahoo has released a first-of-its-kind update for the ELEMNT line that allows users to control their GoPro action cameras from their handlebars. Bike riders can record video of their rides with the ELEMNT’s direct access to record/pause, take pictures, and change camera settings. (The feature’s launch date is TBD.)
The most recent version of Smart Light Control centralizes bike lighting management onto ELEMNT computers. Now, cyclists can pair their ELEMNT with smart lights that are ANT+ compatible, such as those made by Bontrager and Garmin, to enable control features like turning lights on and off and changing modes.
With the recently introduced feature of automatically activating lights at the beginning and ending a ride, riders can maintain their attention on the road ahead.
With the ELEMNT series, Wahoo has also added Music Control, which allows playback control straight from the bike computer. Riders can play/pause, skip, and adjust the volume on a dedicated music control page while enjoying their favorite songs, podcasts, or audiobooks without having to deal with their phone.
With the help of Wahoo’s new Training Plans integration, ELEMNT bike computers can receive scheduled workouts directly from third-party training platforms. By utilising workouts from multiple providers, users can enhance their outdoor training experience and optimise their training regimens with the help of this new API functionality.
In addition to the already-established integrations with Wahoo SYSTM and TrainingPeaks, additional platforms that have opted to integrate with Wahoo’s API are Humango, FinalSurge, Nolio, and Join. Wahoo says there will be more in the near future.
Additionally, Wahoo added Dark Mode to ELEMNT computers to enhance visibility in a range of lighting scenarios.
