You can now control music, GoPro cameras, and smart bike lights with Wahoo ELEMNT computers.
Wahoo has improved the functionality of its well-liked ELEMNT Roam and ELEMNT Bolt computers with a number of new updates.
With the addition of new features, Wahoo’s well-liked ELEMNT Roam and ELEMNT Bolt computers can now be used to control music players and smart bike lights.
A new dark mode to enhance visibility in different lighting conditions is also one of the latest additions, which are available on existing models through software updates. Additionally, Wahoo has increased the number of third-party training applications that are compatible with its ELEMNT computers. While GoPro camera control is scheduled to be added soon, Wahoo says that all of these features are currently available.
According to Chip Hawkins, founder of Wahoo Fitness, the modifications are a response to the needs of the Wahoo community.
He stated in a press release, “At Wahoo, we are committed to continuously improving rider’s experience with their Wahoo devices.”
“We are able to listen to our community and implement many of the upgrades that they request to improve their rides and performance through regular software updates.”
The first of these new features will allow users to use their Wahoo ELEMNT computer to remotely control the lights on their smart bikes.
According to Wahoo, this feature essentially makes the computer into “a centralised hub for bike lighting management”, allowing users to control the light by toggling between the different modes and turning it on or off. Additionally, there is a feature called “automatic light activation” that will automatically turn on and off the lights at the start and finish of rides, respectively.
Smart bike lights that support ANT+ are compatible with the new feature.
Play some music.
Following the idea of giving users more control over other devices—in this case, music players—is the music control feature.
It functions similarly to your music device, allowing you to control playback of music, including volume adjustments and the ability to pause, skip, and play specific songs.
Record GoPro video directly from your PC.
Although it’s not yet available, GoPro cameras will soon be able to be controlled by Wahoo’s Wahoo ELEMNT computers. This one is probably going to be well-liked, and Wahoo says that the function will be accessible soon, so users won’t have to wait long to use it.
The essentially eliminates the need to take a GoPro camera out of its mount because all of the controls are moved to the Wahoo computer, allowing for remote camera operation. It won’t instantly transfer live images to the computer, but you can take pictures, change the camera mode, and pause and resume recording.
More third-party training applications and a new dark mode
