Former Notre Dame commit leaves Deion Sanders life behind

Deion Sanders has been the talk of college football this spring as he continues to seemingly do everything he can to be as unlikeable a head coach of a program as possible. While he still has the support of the Buffalo faithful for now, one has to wonder how much longer that’s going to last if he keeps chasing off decent players.

The latest player to get run off is none other than running back Dylan Edwards. Notre Dame football fans should be familiar with the player considering he was once a commit to the Fighting Irish.

Deion Sanders was able to sweep in and steal Edwards away from Marcus Freeman. It turns out that the way Sanders does business was aggravating enough that the running back could only take one season of him.

Last season, Edwards played all 12 games for CU and finished the season in the pass-first offense with 321 yards and a touchdown. He averaged 4.2 yards per carry in his true freshman season. He’s now taking his talents to Kansas State after entering the transfer portal earlier this month.

Edwards is one of an absolutely mind-boggling 53 players who entered the portal from Colorado since Deion Sanders was hired at Buffalo. He’s also got some heat coming for his son, who decided to take a shot at one of those players on social media.

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders, coming off a season where he led the Buffaloes to a 1-8 record in the Pac-12, decided on Tuesday that he should talk smack about Xavier Smith, a defensive back that moved on last year.

It’s not remotely a surprise why former Notre Dame commit Dylan Edwards would want to get out of Colorado with all of this going on. It was a shame he picked the Buffs in the first place. Though it was clear when he entered the portal the Irish didn’t really have any room for him.
