Potter was appointed as Thomas Tuchel’s successor on a six-year contract in September, and he got off to a good start at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea went unbeaten in their first nine games under the 47-year-old in all competitions, but they have since won just three of their last 12 games in all competitions.

The Blues’ inconsistent form has landed them in 10th place in the Premier League table, though Potter has guided them to first place in their Champions League group.

Despite Chelsea’s financial woes, Potter – who is under contract with the club until 2027 – is not thought to be in immediate danger of losing his job, with Chelsea willing to give him plenty of time to implement his ideas.

According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, Frankfurt manager Glasner is admired by Chelsea, who tried and failed to lure him away from the German club in the summer.

Glasner led Frankfurt to the Europa League title last season, defeating Rangers in the final, and Die Adler are sixth in the Bundesliga table this season, with 32 points from 18 games.

The 48-year-contract old’s at Deutsche Bank Park is set to expire in the summer of 2024, and Todd Boehly is said to have been blown away by Glasner’s continental triumph last season.

Die Adler have also gone unbeaten in their last seven matches across all competitions, including a 1-1 draw with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Glasner previously took charge of Ried, LASK and Wolfsburg before moving to Frankfurt in 2021, and he has amassed 32 wins, 23 draws and 20 losses from his 75 games in charge.

Potter acknowledged earlier this month that his job was under scrutiny, but the former Brighton & Hove Albion manager insisted that he had the “full support” of the club’s owners.

“If you don’t get results, there will always be questions. The media put me under pressure after two defeats before the [World Cup] break “Potter stated during a press conference.

“The board has given me their full support. They’ve been extremely reassuring. But I’m not naive, and if anyone I work for believes the problem is my fault, they have every right to say, ‘Thank you very much, but it’s not working,’ and I accept that.”

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is said to be interested in a third stint at Stamford Bridge, but the Roma manager is unwilling to leave his current club in the middle of the season.

Chelsea can extend their Premier League unbeaten streak when they host Fulham in a West London derby on Friday.
