INTERVIEW: Joel Latibeaudiere talks Shrewsbury result and why he wanted to join Coventry

Joel Latibeaudiere made his first outing in Sky Blue as City were held at Croud Meadow against Shrewsbury Town.

Lats started from the off in his first start for the Club, playing 45 minutes off the back of his first training session yesterday at the Sky Blue Lodge.

Speaking after the final whistle, the defender looked back on his first appearance and explained why he wanted to join Coventry.

Making his first appearance…

“It was brilliant to live in the moment and play in front of the fans and play with my new team mates.

“I got 45 minutes in the tank, and it was a chance to get used to each other.

“It was my first training session yesterday, so we keep building on that trust and relationships with the units I’m going to play with moving forward.”

Playing alongside Kyle McFadzean…

“Fadz has been great since I got in. I’m a Donny boy and he’s a Sheffield boy so he’s taking me under his wing and it was great to play with him.

“He’s good at communicating and helping me through the Game so it was great to pay with him and all of them.”

Why Coventry…

“When we played against them last year, it was always a tough game and when the season ended Cov were moving on to the play offs and they reached out to me and my agent.

“When I came and met with the Gaffer and Adi, the way they were talking and how excited they were and the style of football they wanted to play, it had me hooked straight away.”

The Gaffer…

“He’s straight up an tells you how it is, which is how I prefer.

“He doesn’t beat round the bush, and he demands hard work and the unity he has and the way he brings the players together is brilliant and his style of football, he knows what he’s doing and him and Adi work great together and I’m excited for the upcoming season.”

Him as a defender…

“I like to get stuck in I’m aggressive and I like to play get on the ball and try and get our better players on the ball and get them behind the midfield so they can create and get our strikers on the ball and I’m calm in possession.”

The Sky Blue Army…

“Thanks for the turn out it was great and I was so happy to live in that moment because so many people have told me it’s a big club, so it was nice to have them on my side because last season they would have been against me and it was just great to see them and hear them singing.”
