Fabrizio Romano, a target for Leeds United in the summer, is almost certain to sign a European contract after a strong EFL run.

Edouard Michut, a summer target for Leeds United, is departing PSG on loan this week to join Adana Demirspor of Turkey.

Leeds’ transfer window has closed as they work under Daniel Farke to assemble a team that will pursue promotion, having filled the majority of the squad’s holes since being demoted.

After some prominent departures, midfield was a crucial area for the team to solve, but in August, they successfully filled the void.

Ethan Ampadu looks an astute signing at £7million with his performances standing out from the crowd already in the EFL.

He was joined late in the window by a swift double signing of Rangers’ Glen Kamara for £5.5million and Werder Bremen’s Ilia Gruev for £6million, taking Leeds’ midfield outlay to around £18.5million.

How did Edouard Muchut fare?
Edouard Michut of PSG, who was dropped from the French giants’ plans during his loan stint with Sunderland last season, was another player who had been closely associated with Leeds.

The Frenchman is currently departing, but Fabrizio Romano has announced that he will spend the season on loan at Adana Demirspor:

Exclusive: Adana Demirspor and Paris Saint-Germain agree to a loan agreement for Édouard Michut.

“I understand that the contract included a buy option; Patrick Kluivert wanted Michut.

“Verbal agreement sealed, awaiting review of the paperwork and signature.”

predictions for Leeds vs. Millwall?

Although Michut would have been a fantastic acquisition for us to make, I don’t believe we should be disappointed with the outcome.

Instead, we’ve added two seasoned foreign players to the position, an improvement over what we had the previous campaign.

Michut finds moving to Turkey appealing, but he must be in a desperate situation right now

Sam Byram’s injury claim in Leeds

Injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar has indicated the defender could be out for quite some time…

Now that Leeds United has received a claim on Sam Byram’s injury from a professional, there are signs that, in the worst-case scenario, the defender would be out for a while.

Sam Byram will return from his injury when?
Before the 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday at the start of September, Byram had appeared in all four of Leeds’ Championship games, but manager Daniel Farke was unable to use the full-back against the Owls.

The defender was again unavailable for selection against Salford City in the EFL Cup, with Farke confirming he was not close to being named in the starting XI at the Peninsula Stadium, saying:

“No sadly. He has an adductor strain and he is out for the weekend.\

“He will miss the game at the weekend. We hope that he’s back then on the other side of the International break. The strain is not too bad, but the tightness was something between two and three weeks. So for that definitely not available for the weekend. But hopefully then the other side.”

As such, the 29-year-old could be fit for the trip to Millwall this Sunday, but injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar has now indicated he could be set for a much longer spell on the sidelines due to the “severe damage” to the group of muscles, potentially totalling 3 months in a worst-case scenario. Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar said:

The injury is severe damage to a group of muscles that run along the inside of the leg called the adductor group – one of the most commonly injured muscle groups for footballers.

The same guidelines that apply to any other muscular rehabilitation will guide his recovery and return to play: increase the area’s strength and mobility while progressively adding higher-intensity training that eventually simulates on-pitch action.

A Grade 3 rupture, which often means 12+ weeks away, is the worst case scenario.

Is Sam Byram healthy enough to face Millwall?
The Englishman’s availability for selection against Millwall this weekend is still in question, but Farke will be hoping for some good news this week given how well his summer acquisition has adjusted to life at Elland Road.

The Thurrock-born defender has played left back for the Whites this season, but he recently showed he can be a threat on the attack by helping Wilfried Gnonto score in the 4-3 victory over Ipswich Town.

The former West Ham United player tied West Bromwich Albion at 1-1 in the match.

After spending a number of years away from Elland Road, with the likes of West Ham, Norwich City and Nottingham Forest, the Leeds academy graduate was just starting to find his feet in his second spell at Elland Road. As such, it will be a real blow if Byram is out for longer than expected, and Farke will be hoping it is only a minor issue.

Leeds United have blown the Championship club’s contract offer out of the water with an eight-figure agreement –
According to Swansea City sporting director Paul Watson, Leeds United’s offer to buy Joel Piroe from Swansea City was one the Welsh club couldn’t compete with.

The Whites were ambitious in their approach to summer business, bolstering their squad to the point where it appears to be stronger than last season in a number of areas.

In attack, the club spent heavily to bring in quality, signing Swansea City’s Joel Piroe on a permanent deal.

What was the price of Piroe?
Piroe joined Leeds for an initial sum of £10.5 million, which may increase to as much as £16 million if Leeds trigger certain add-ons in the contract.
His start at Leeds couldn’t have been better, as he began his career at Ipswich Town, scoring on his debut and assisting the club to their first league win of the season.

Swansea sold for what reason?
When Leeds approached Piroe, he had less than a year left on his contract at Swansea, and a new deal was on the table, according to Swansea sporting director Paul Watson.

Over the weekend, he told WalesOnline that his club just couldn’t match with Leeds’ financial heft.

a side that boasts parachute payments:

“I had many conversations with Joel.” I’ve spoken with a variety of players. I have stated that I will be two things: fair and honest.

“We ultimately wanted to try to keep Joel, but what he and his representatives wanted was not within the football club’s structure.”

“We felt we couldn’t break that structure because of the repercussions.” This was in addition to an offer that came in. We have an internal valuation, which was reached and even exceeded in several cases.

“When you get a return on investment, he said he wasn’t going to sign a new contract, and you can’t compete.”

a club with parachute payments: with a club that has parachute payments, it all came to a point where you said, what do we do, we get the best for the football club?

“We can get something, reinvest it, and strengthen it as we go.”

With a takeover secured, the club needed to demonstrate that they had the muscle to bloody some noses in the division.

Signing one of the division’s finest forwards from a team seeking to crack the top six demonstrates what the 49ers have intended to do.

When you combine that with additional signings, you have a squad that is far more capable of challenging for promotion than it was previously.
