On the field and on social media, Florida State was completely destroyed on Saturday.

Georgia defeated Florida State 63-3 in the Capital One Orange Bowl at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.

The Seminoles’ defense allowed 673 total yards to their opponents, while Florida State’s offense produced only a field goal in the second quarter. In the second quarter, FSU was outscored 35-3.

Georgia had 372 yards on the ground despite having only 104 yards from their leading rusher, running back Kendall Minton.

Fans on X were as harsh on Florida State as Kirby Smart’s team was on the field.

For their virtual no-show on the field against the Bulldogs, some dubbed the Seminoles quitters.

Others cited Georgia’s defeat to explain FSU’s exclusion from the College Football Playoff.

The Florida State team that hit the field against Georgia on Saturday was not the same one that went unbeaten during the regular season.

Jordan Travis, FSU’s standout quarterback, was already out. However, nearly two dozen players sat out the Orange Bowl due to opt-outs, injuries, or transfer portal issues.

It’s a farce to argue that this game reflected whether or not FSU deserved a position in the CFP playoffs.
