Florida State had a difficult day on Saturday. Not only did Georgia molly whack the Seminoles on the football, but their college basketball team finished non-conference play with a crushing loss to a mid-major institution.
The humiliating chain of events did not stop there!
Lipscomb is enjoying a tremendous season and recently upset Arkansas on the road. Its victory over Florida State should not be questioned. The Bisons are one of the better ASUN programs.
No matter how good the opponent, the Seminoles cannot lose that game at home. They led for only 4:56 minutes of play, the majority of which was in the first half, and trailed by as many as 21 points in the second half. Their bid at a comeback came just short.
The losing team posted a final score graphic not long after the final buzzer rang. They deserve credit for posting the final score after such a humiliating defeat. Unfortunately, the dreadful, horrible, no good, very poor day continued, and the first attempt at creating a graphic was futile.
Whoever was in charge of the post neglected to delete some phony text from the image.
The phrase ‘LOREM IPSUM’ was put in all caps above and above the opponent’s emblem.
Mistakes happen, and it wasn’t a huge deal. The Seminoles removed and then re-posted the correct graphic. There is no harm, no foul.
However, losing the game and then posting an error-ridden visual is a cruel way to go out. It directly pours salt into the wound.
To make matters worse, deleting and uploading the graphic less than an hour later provided internet trolls with a second opportunity to throw jokes. Everyone had mostly recovered from the loss until they were reminded of it again!
Tallahassee is having a bad day.
