Rumors about Josh Addo-Carr’s departure confound Bulldogs manager Phil Gould, who said, “I don’t know what’s going on.”

In spite of his recent difficulties, Bulldogs manager Phil Gould has called suggestions that Josh Addo-Carr is leaving the team “rubbish” and stated that the star winger is still “absolutely important” and “vital” to the team’s future.

So far, Addo-Carr’s off-season has been turbulent. After getting into a fight during the Koori Knockout, he was left off of the Australian team for the Pacific Championships. He was also made to apologize for a contentious social media post about the situation in Israel and Palestine.

According to rumors that surfaced this week, the Bulldogs are trying to trade the 28-year-old for the Eels. Gould scoffed at such nonsense.

“I have no idea who spread these rumors. I’m not sure why these rumors were formed. He told 9News Sydney, “I don’t know why people get into these rumors; it’s got me beat.

“I don’t know what’s going on with Josh Addo-Carr and why he’s in the papers at the moment.”

After the Koori Knockout drama, Gould met with Addo-Carr, and the Bulldogs captain gave an explanation of why they were meeting.

“Josh had an eventful couple of weeks and we just wanted to make sure that he was OK, make sure he was all settled down,” he explained.

“He’s probably aware that he slightly stepped outside of the crease there, but mistakes are inevitable.” Regarding the other garbage in the papers, I have no idea whence it originated.

Josh Addo-Carr plays a crucial role in our team. His popularity among the members and admirers is really high. He arrived here.

Gould stated that the Bulldogs will hold steady for the time being despite rumors that the team is shopping Addo-Carr in an attempt to bolster its forward group.

“Well, there aren’t any forwards available for purchase. You might say that we need this and that, but there aren’t any available for purchase right now, so I’m already planning for 2025 and 2026,” he remarked.

We’ll probably just sit on what we have for the time being. We’re overjoyed because some good talent is coming through those grades, and we won a few junior contests last year.

“They’re a few years away, but the process takes that long, so I’m looking forward to it.”
