Despite being carried out on a stretcher, Everton star Seamus Coleman sends a good message and escapes ACL damage.

During Everton’s 2-2 draw with Leicester City, Seamus Coleman was carried off the pitch in a stretcher after appearing to have suffered a horrific injury.

The right-back seemed to twist his knee as he landed awkwardly after colliding with Foxes midfielder Boubakary Soumare.

Having just recently returned from a hamstring issue, the right-back was left in obvious distress and was carried off the field of play on a stretcher.

Toffees supporters are waiting for word on their club captain as they attempt to avoid relegation from the Premier League. It appeared to be a terrible injury.

What’s new with Coleman’s injury?
After the draw with Leicester, Everton manager Sean Dyche acknowledged he was concerned about the right-back in an interview with talkSPORT.

“We’re waiting on news about Seamus,” he stated. Although it doesn’t seem good, we’re still awaiting clarification.

“The doctors believe the situation will likely be more serious than not.”

Coleman, however, discovered during a scan that he has escaped any significant harm.

There were worries that he might have injured his ACL, but he has allayed those anxieties.

“Just wanted to update you all, thanks so much for all the well wishes,” the club captain stated in a statement. I’m happy to report that my scan revealed no ACL injury. Return shortly.”

Given how serious the injury looked to be, Coleman’s statement suggests that the right-back should be involved in some capacity for the duration of the season.

Though it seems likely that he will miss the forthcoming game against Brighton, he might be able to play in the meeting against Manchester City later this month.

Jason Cundy of talkSPORT, meanwhile, was incensed with how Sky Sports covered the injury.

Severe knee problems ruined Cundy’s career, and he believed the broadcaster could have done better by not airing such explicit pictures.

He said on The Sports Bar: “I was completely horrified by the Sky director’s decision to broadcast endless replays of that injury.

“Respect someone’s professional endeavors; he has been an amazing asset to Everton.”
