Michigan Football Spring Game: Preview, live thread and updates from the Big House

Michigan football opens the doors to the Big House on Saturday afternoon for its annual Spring Game, which will feature a split-team scrimmage.

Maize vs. Blue will battle for bragging rights (and potentially a better post-game meal). Of bigger consequence to the 2024 Wolverines, the Spring Game offers players an opportunity to make their case for playing time in as close to a real-game scenario as they’ll have until the season opener August 31.

Here is what to know about the Michigan football Spring Game and associated activities:

Michigan Football Spring Game: Date, time and TV

When: Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, April 20 at 12:05 p.m. All gates will open to the public at 11:00 a.m. due to anticipated crowds. Teams will begin warmups at 11:30.

Where: Michigan Stadium (Ann Arbor, Mich.)

Michigan Athletics says concession stands at the Big House will be open during the Spring Game. (All locations are cashless.) Bags, including fanny packs and purses, are prohibited at the Big House.

Michigan Football Spring Game: Parking information

Via Michigan Athletics:

Parking options near Michigan Stadium will be extremely limited due to other events and activities in the surrounding areas. Any available parking in the lots around Michigan Stadium, owned and operated by the University of Michigan, will be free and open to the public starting at 7 AM (and is expected to fill quickly). There will be no parking available at Pioneer High School or the U-M and AAGO Golf Courses.

ADA Parking:  A limited number of parking spots for guests with mobility impairments will be available (free of charge) in the parking area east of the William Davidson Player Development Center and can be accessed off Stadium Blvd. A State-Issued Disability Parking Placard will be required to gain admittance into this area of the parking lot, which will open at 7 a.m.

Michigan Football Spring Game weather 

Forecasts call for a cool and windy afternoon for the Spring Game. The Weather Channel predicts partly sunny skies Saturday morning will give way to cloudy skies during the afternoon. High temperature of 48F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph.
