West Ham are planning a second free signing following former Manchester United powerhouse as a result of quadruple failure.

Despite the fact that the transfer window has closed, West Ham United are still looking for two new players, according to a report.

Outside of the transfer window, clubs can still sign free agents, which is what West Ham intends to do in order to replace some of the voids in their team. Two trades are possible, according to Football Insider.

According to the source, Jesse Lingard is in line for a contract offer from the club after recently training with them. He was released by Nottingham Forest at the end of last season and could return to West Ham.

Lingard was previously loaned to West Ham from Manchester United for six months in 2021, and his explosive play won him an England recall. He has, however, struggled to regain that form subsequently.

Now that he’s 30, he might be able to get his career back on track, where he most recently experienced a productive run of form.

West Ham may be trying to sign a second free agent in addition to Lingard. According to the report, they are still looking for a striker to round out their roster.

West Ham United lost four strikers.

They tried unsuccessfully to sign four players near the close of the transfer window. Despite Tim Steidten’s journey to Brazil, they were unable to sign Yuri Alberto from Corinthians.

According to the source, they had an offer for Dominic Solanke rejected by Bournemouth and came away from talks with Hugo Ekitike and Youssef En-Nesyri’s respective teams without any sort of agreement

Because Ekitike is still at PSG and En-Nesyri is still at Sevilla, the onus is still on Michail Antonio (and Danny Ings) to lead the line for West Ham following the sale of Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta earlier this year.

The identities of any free-agent attackers West Ham may be interested in are not given in the report.

Last month, they signed midfielders Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse, as well as attack-minded Mohammed Kudus and Konstantinos Mavropanos.
