Keenan Appiah-Forson has agreed to terms for a loan move away from West Ham United.

West Ham have sanctioned the departure of Keenan Appiah-Forson as he has signed for Dagenham & Redbridge on loan.

The National League side announced on their website on 3 September that the 21-year-old has joined the club on a season-long loan deal.

The midfielder will be hoping that the loan move would provide him more first-team experience after his opportunities at the London Stadium have been limited.

Minutes that were desperately required

The move to Dagenham will provide Appiah-Forson with a wonderful opportunity to go out on loan and experience what it’s like to play in the first team.

Because of its closeness to the London Stadium and the additional playing time it frequently provides, the East London club has traditionally been a desirable landing site for West Ham players.

After rising through the ranks at West Ham, the midfielder made his first-team debut in December 2021, coming on as a late replacement in a 1-0 Europa League defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.

He hasn’t played since, but he’ll be trying to make an impression with the Daggers before his contract expires at the end of the season.

The youngster will be familiar with Victoria Road because the Irons’ U-21s play some of their games there, and he played in a friendly against Dagenham in July.

In other West Ham news, Gary Lineker weighed in on the club’s strong start to the season.
